Stratton and Craig

During a week placement at stratton and Craig, I was given the task to produce online content for a range of garages and car dealerships, which promoted their services and gave information on the location of the garages. I also contributed to a weekly blog called 'Ad of the week' and wrote an online news story about the automobile brand, 'Dacia.'

During my time at University, I have been set briefs that have included creating radio and other promotional content for Heinz Salad Cream, to writing a speech in the voice of Jacqueline Wilson. I have worked on ambient ideas including a flash mob proposal for De Beer's and also a 'Moving Mannequin' performance in a Ted Baker window display.

I have also produced content for a brief set for Plan UK, as part of the a campaign, 'Because I am a Girl' which aimed to raise awareness of the issues that girls faced in various countries, including sexual abuse, poverty and thier fight in thre right to education and equality. Furthermore, as part of my Account Management and Planning course, I have planned a charitable event for The White Ribbon Alliance.

Smoke Free UK

As part of a third year module at university which focused on not for profit advertisement, I worked on a brief from Smoke Free UK. As a group, we created two double spread adverts, a radio script, an ambient idea and television advert. The campaign aimed to change the behaviour and mindset of parents who smoked around their children. From our research we discovered that parents believed that smoking around children had little effect on the health of their children and so our primary concern was to change this view. We also discovered that parents did not want to be patronised and they wanted support. Our campaign aimed to shock and was aimed at parents, specifically mothers aged eighteen to forty-five (C2DE.)

De Beer's Diamonds

As part of my second year module, Creative Concepts and Visualisation, I worked in a team to produce an advertising campaign for De Beers Diamonds. The brief explained that we must use the famous slogan, 'Diamonds are forever' and that the campaign must communicate that diamonds signify eternal love.

Using various techniques, our group created a print led campaign along with a radio script, an ambient stunt and an app that allowed the user to upload an image of their hand and see how various rings would look on them beofore they made a purchase. The print campaign was based around the idea that during a lifetime, memories are created and that when a woman looks down at her engagement or wedding ring, she sees her past and future.

The White Ribbon Alliance

I recently worked on a University project as part of the module Account Management and Planing. As a group we worked on a brief for the charity, The White Ribbon Alliance. We were asked to create a charitable event at Glastonbury Festival which would increase donations and website traffic. We also had to make a time plan in the form of a Gantt chart using Microsoft Project as well as a budget sheet using Microsoft Excel. As a group we had to factor in all costs such as marquee hire, transport, entertainment, staff, uniforms, decorations, music, website creation, banners, photographers, backdrops and business cards.

Our target market was festival goers aged eighteen to twenty-five and so our idea was based around selling three festival themed hair braids which could be braided into the hair by speciaslist braiders, inside the marquee. The braids each had a unique design which was inspired by the WRA website. We also designed an SOS style festival kit which could be purchased prior to the evet on the WRA website and also at the festival. After researching which items were most forgotten at a festival, we included condoms, paracetemol, baby wipes, hand sanitiser and sweets. Furthermore, we felt that as the charity aimed to raise money for mothers during childbirth, that a motherly type SOS kit and hair braid (as mums often do their dsughter's hair) would reinforce the idea that mums are special and should be celebrated.

Furthermore, we also planned to have African dancers dressed in traditional African costumes, dancing during the festival and drawing attention to the marquee. Promotional staff would also be present wearing a WRA t-shirt which had the event hashtag printed on the back.

Inside the tent, festival goers would be able to have their photo taken against a professional backdrop which would have the WRA logo, hashtag and social media addresses printed on. They would then be given a link to the WRA website either through a QR code or a recyclable business card, where can recieve their festival photo, share it through social media and also donate to the charity.
